The Naked Chef
This show was Oliver's television debut, and was noted for its use of jumpy, close-up camera work, and the presenter's "Mockney" dialect and relaxed style—for example, Oliver would tear up herbs rather than chopping. The programme was credited with inspiring men to cook due to Oliver's "blokey" approach. Each episode was notionally based around a social situation or event in Oliver's life, such as a hen night or babysitting his cousins.

Jamie makes a simple yet sophisticated meal for fellow chefs on a rare night off. Jamie prepares Fusion Broth with Seafood, Noodles and Black Beans, Lamb with Pancetta, Sage and Rosemary, Roasted Red Onions Thyme and Butter and Vanilla-Baked Fruit.
Hen Night
Jamie's agrees to cook for sister's bachlorette night. Jamie makes Baked Salmon with Olives, Green Beans, Anchovies and Cherry Tomatoes and Basil Aioli, Foccacia with Olive Oil, Rosemary and Garlic and a dessert of Lemon and Lime Cream Tart.
Babysitting
Jamie watches his young cousins while his Uncle Alan is out at a boat show. Jamie and the kids make Spaghetti with Chili, Anchovies and Pangrattato, Fresh Ravioli with Smashed Broad Beans, Mint and Ricotta, Ravioli with Potato, Watercress and Cheeses and Praline Semifreddo.
The Band
Jamie cooks for his reunited band after their biggest gig in weeks. He makes Vegetable Tempura with Dipping Sauce, Thai Green Chicken Curry and Tomato, Cucumber and Coconut salad.
Birthday Party
Jamie throws a party for his own birthday and all his friends. He makes Roast Pork and Crackling with Sweet Chili Pepper Salsa, Mozzarella and Chili Salad, Baby Spinach, Fresh Pea and Feta Cheese Salad, and the "Jungle Boogie" cocktail.
The Girlfriend
Jamie cooks up a feast for his girlfriend by making Sea Bass Baked in a Bag with Herbs and Red Onion with Fennel and Radish Salad. Plus, New Potatoes Cooked with Dill and Olive Oil. For dessert, a wickedly rich Baked Chocolate Tart.
