She hates the war around her, and will sometimes stir up trouble against the church that does nothing to stop it. Her interventions into the world, however, run against the plans of heaven, earning her the attention of the Archangel Michael.

Despite ordered by Michael to kill Maria should she uses her magic in front of the people again, Ezekiel barely avoids to fatally wound her instead. Meanwhile, Galfa, who lost an arm during the battle, blames Maria for it and swears revenge on her, assisted by the church who views her as a hindrance.

Despite not fully healed, Maria returns home just to find that she is being blamed for the French defeat in the last battle and the sudden worsening of Martha's condition. Meanwhile, Brother Bernard conspires to bring her down.

Maria loses her magic and is captured for her inquisition. While Joseph and the others plan for her rescue, Bernard approaches Maria with interest.

Maria’s friends go all out to save her before she is sentenced. Meanwhile, Joseph’s return to battle leads to an encounter with Galfa.

Joseph and Galfa face each other in a bitter duel. Maria finally arrives on scene and what follows is something not even she could have expected.
Love Conquers All
